The newly completed Chamberlain Group facility is a modern architectural achievement, combining the needs of contemporary manufacturing with innovative design. Space Urban and Crossmuller collaborated closely to deliver a space that not only accommodates the demands of a modern manufacturing and distribution operation but also prioritises sustainability and employee well-being.
“At Chamberlain, we have always been committed to excellence in manufacturing, and this new facility is a testament to that commitment,” said Graeme Sheekey, Chamberlain Group’s Director of Operations. “Partnering with Space Urban allowed us to create a space that truly reflects our values and vision for the future. This facility will play a crucial role in supporting our operations as we continue to grow and innovate in the Australian market.”
Sustainability is a key focus of the new building, with features such as a 200kW solar power system, rainwater harvesting capabilities, and on-site sandstone cutting, where repurposed materials are used for stormwater management and retaining walls. The facility also includes electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, aligning with the growing shift towards environmentally responsible industrial operations.
“As local developers on the Central Coast, Space Urban was honoured to be a part of Chamberlain’s journey to create a unique, purpose-built manufacturing and distribution facility. Alongside our construction partner Crossmuller, our goal was to create a space that not only reflected Chamberlain's rich history in Australian manufacturing but also set a new standard for modern industrial architecture in this growing region,” said Allison Basford, CEO of Space Urban. “By incorporating sustainable features and prioritising employee well-being, we believe this facility will be a lasting legacy for Chamberlain and a source of pride for the Central Coast community.”
The strategic location of the facility in Somersby, one of Australia’s most dynamic manufacturing regions, further enhances the Central Coast’s reputation as a thriving industrial hub. Its modern design, coupled with its sustainability and employee-centric features, reflects the future of industrial architecture and development.
Both Space Urban and Crossmuller have expressed their pride in the successful completion of this project. They look forward to continuing their contributions to the Australian manufacturing industry and the Central Coast community.
