Approached by reDirect Recycling in February 2020, Space Urban was instrumental in identifying a suitable site for the development of this large-scale project. Providing expert advice on land zoning and planning regulations, Space Urban also assisted in the design and development of the facility. Our civil designers were instrumental in ensuring the facility meet relevant design standards, while complying with relevant regulatory requirements. Space Urban also helped to secure the necessary permits and approvals from the relevant authorities.
Positioned on 20,292m2 of land and housed in a 7,970m2 purpose-built building, reDirect's resource recovery facility can process hydro-excavated drill muds and create recycled aggregates for beneficial reuse. The system can also process other wastes such as stormwater, street sweepings, and soils.
During the approval process, Space Urban liaised between reDirect and the local community regarding the facility design and the approval process. We worked with Local and State government authorities to ensure that the facility was designed to minimise any negative impact on the environment and the community.
Once the recycling facility was approved, Space Urban assisted with the construction and commissioning of the facility. We worked closely with the construction team to ensure that the facility was built to the required standards as per development approval.
